Teamleader Accounting

As Teamleader General Accounting at our insurance client, you will lead a team of 6 and report to the accounting manager. You will be responsible for accounting closings, daily processes and reports, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders. Requirements: Master's degree with 3-7 years of experience, willingness to learn insurance accounting, organizational skills and good knowledge of Dutch and English. Description

As team leader General Accounting, you will be part of the accounting team consisting of 20 people. You will lead a team of 6 and report to the accounting manager, with following responsibilities:
  • You are responsible for the accounting closures of the different trading companies that are part of the group
  • You will be responsible for the day-to-day processing and follow-up of the Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable/Banks/Fixed Assets processes and for the monthly closing of operating expenses
  • You are responsible for coordinating the preparation of various internal and external reports (including group reports, annual accounts, budgets for trading companies, reports to tax administrations, etc.). These reports include both local and international accounting regulations (BE GAAP, IFRS, Solvency II, Swiss Solvency) and certain tax legislation.
  • You ensure the optimal functioning of your team and provide support to your employees on the one hand by coaching, motivating and evaluating them in their function and on the other hand by guiding them in the application of accounting standards, processes and strategies
  • You actively participate in the continuous improvement of our client's end-to-end processes and reporting
  • You maintain key contacts with external parties (consultants, auditor,...) and internal contacts within your own team, the Finance department and other departments.

Your profile

  • You have a master's degree preferably in economics or finance with 3 to 7 years of experience or equivalent through experience
  • You are willing to go further into insurance accounting
  • You have good organizational and administrative skills
  • You create an atmosphere where employees can give the best of themselves
  • You are result oriented and positive
  • You engage and develop yourself and others
  • You are an assertive, but also empathic and diplomatic person
  • You are familiar with accounting packages and common Office applications, in particular Excel. Experience with SAP is a plus
  • You have a good knowledge of Dutch and English.
