Description
We currently have an opening for a Senior Underwriter on the Liability team at our client’s office in Antwerp. In this role, you will handle large, complex, or specialized cases with the goal of achieving new business and retention targets. You will spend most of your time making underwriting decisions, actively contributing to business development, and liaising with clients and brokers. You will work independently and have direct contact with clients and third parties. In addition, you will serve as a senior team member and point of contact for junior colleagues. You possess strong analytical and communication skills, as well as a talent for relationship management.- Analyzing complex and/or large files and making timely underwriting decisions in line with company objectives, your authority, and the risk appetite.
- Taking full management and responsibility for your portfolio of large and complex accounts, and achieving KPIs in accordance with business plans.
- Contribute to the development of segment- and local-level business development plans with a focus on new business opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with underwriting and commercial teams, as well as other stakeholders.
- Utilize available underwriting tools, rating engines, and technical insights to provide tailored solutions.
- Communicate our propositions and risk appetite clearly and positively.
Your profile
- You have a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree and extensive experience in Liability Underwriting, with strong technical knowledge that you can clearly articulate during the underwriting process.
- You are analytical, take ownership, and have a proven track record of achieving business objectives.
- You have a broad internal and external network, both within Liability and beyond.
- You are a true team player and are seen as a role model for your colleagues.
- You are fluent in English and Dutch and possess strong commercial skills.
