Description

As part of your role, you will actively contribute to the success of mergers and acquisitions projects by performing the following tasks:
  • Providing legal assistance in European acquisitions, investments, and other strategic corporate finance transactions, covering all stages: performing due diligence analyses, drafting and negotiating letters of intent and definitive transaction documents, and supporting closing and post-closing integration processes;
  • Drafting and preparing meeting materials for the executive committee and board of directors regarding M&A transactions;
  • Provide support for other specific corporate projects, such as strategic financing transactions or insurance-related investments;
  • Work closely with the internal M&A team, the corporate legal team, and external advisors and experts;
  • Manage projects effectively by adopting a team-oriented approach.

Your profile

The ideal candidate:
  • Has a master's degree in law from a recognized Belgian or European university;
  • Has at least two years' experience as a lawyer specializing in mergers and acquisitions, or in the legal department of an international company;
  • Is fluent in Dutch, French, and English;
  • Demonstrates excellent negotiation and legal drafting skills;
  • Is able to work as an in-house lawyer within the M&A team, while simultaneously managing several transactions or projects related to corporate finance;
  • Adopts a business-oriented approach, combining pragmatism and problem-solving;
  • Works rigorously and has a proactive mindset, with excellent communication skills, both oral and written;
  • Demonstrates autonomy while being a team player, enjoying knowledge sharing and collaboration with colleagues and external partners;
  • Possesses strong analytical skills in law, enabling them to identify relevant legal issues and provide clear advice in line with business needs.
