Description
As part of your role, you will be required to:- Provide clear, precise and pragmatic legal advice on a wide range of banking issues, including products, contracts, procedures, standard models, litigation and special cases.
- Draft, analyze and negotiate various legal and contractual documents such as general terms and conditions, service contracts, partnership agreements and financial product documentation.
- Support operational teams in structuring and launching new products and services, taking into account legal and regulatory aspects.
- Work closely with Compliance and Risk Management to identify legal risks and implement mitigation measures.
- Assess the impact of new regulations and court rulings on the company's activities, while proposing solutions for their implementation.
- Manage pre-litigation and litigation phases unrelated to credit: this involves analyzing files, coordinating with external lawyers and, if necessary, representing the establishment.
- Handle claims and provide support to the complaints management department for complex cases.
- Provide legal support to the Corporate Secretary on governance issues.
Your profile
The ideal candidate:- Holds a Master's degree in Law
- Is a lawyer, fluent in French or Dutch, with a good understanding of the other national language (minimum level C1) and a good level of English (at least B2).
- Has at least 6 years' relevant experience in the banking sector, either in-house, as a consultant or in a law firm.
- Enjoys translating theoretical knowledge into practical, operational solutions.
- Shows a keen interest in governance within the banking sector.
- Solid expertise in banking and financial law at both Belgian and European level. Knowledge of a particular field such as corporate law, capital markets or labor law would be an additional asset.
