Description
- You lead the development and implementation of underwriting evaluation methodologies and due diligence practices to achieve top-tier underwriting returns and equity returns.
- You gather, review, and assess proposals for new program opportunities from brokers, managing general agents, and reinsurers.
- You oversee all European underwriting activities and prepare reports for the European Holdings Board.
- You perform comprehensive analyses on program profitability, risk factors, and operational needs, and provide well-founded recommendations on the qualitative and quantitative aspects of each business opportunity.
- You work collaboratively with Operations, Finance, and Legal/Compliance teams to enhance internal underwriting processes.
- You manage the effective onboarding of approved programs.
- You offer technical underwriting knowledge in assessing intricate property and casualty risks, formulating underwriting guidelines, and determining suitable pricing and coverage terms. You initiate continual process enhancement strategies and adjustments to risk appetite.
- You partner with the International Chief Underwriting Officer and the Chief Risk Officer in Europe to create and execute efficient reinsurance approaches for partner programs, ensuring proper risk transfer and capital management.
- You take an active role in managing the complete portfolio of partner programs, tracking risk concentrations, exposure levels, and profitability indicators. You establish and oversee key performance indicators (KPIs) related to underwriting cycle durations and productivity through data analysis.
Your profile
The ideal candidate:- Possesses a decade of experience in product management or underwriting across various commercial sectors, including property, liability, financial lines, excess casualty, and surety.
- Exhibits in-depth understanding of the program manager marketplace within the European Union.
- Demonstrates strong analytical skills with a keen eye for coverage specifics, compliance, pricing, and underwriting regulations.
- Holds experience in reinsurance principles, including treaty and facultative arrangements, along with the ability to devise reinsurance strategies.
- Proven ability to cultivate productive, long-lasting relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Familiar with property and casualty insurance operations and key profitability factors.
- Experienced in enhancing underwriting processes and managing projects effectively.
