Description
In your role as an accounting manager, you will be responsible for the following general tasks:- You translate departmental objectives into team objectives;
- You draw up the department's annual plan and budgets and monitor their follow-up;
- You apply the team strategy, setting, monitoring and analyzing KPIs;
- You follow and apply changing accounting regulations;
- You participate in the development and implementation of new systems;
- You keep yourself abreast of developments in your area of expertise.
- You manage the general accounting transactions for: 4 legal entities for which you also have final responsibility;
- You ensure the accuracy of company accounts in accordance with accounting, social and tax legislation;
- You assist in the quarterly and annual closings and ensure the analysis and justification of the accounts for the company auditors;
- You evaluate current practices and procedures, make recommendations for improvements and are responsible for updating accounting documentation;
- You liaise with the international entity on accounting issues, monitor application of rules and participate in audits organized between subsidiaries.
- You coordinate and organize the service according to the priorities and competencies of the employees in line with the needs of the organization:
- You coordinate the transversal accounting teams Ghent/Brussels;
- You are contact person for the different teams in terms of organizational and relational cooperation and intervene in case of difficulties;
- You ensure team consultation and look for the best ways to work together in consultation with the teams and also the departments involved;
- You are responsible for the planning and distribution of tasks and follow up those activities accurately;
- You communicate decisions and procedures and see that they are followed;
- You coach, mentor and oversee employee development, contributing to the feedback culture and necessary conversations according to SMART objectives.
Your profile
- You have a master's degree or are equivalent through experience;
- You have at least 8 to 10 years of experience in a management position;
- You speak Dutch and French; knowledge of English is an asset;
- You have a perfect knowledge of accounting and finance;
- You have proven experience in team management and are a seasoned leader: problems or bottlenecks do not scare you, you are solution-oriented;
- You can set the right priorities between operational and people management, and navigate smoothly between changing priorities;
- You can smoothly translate departmental objectives into an operational and team vision;
- You are an excellent communicator and relationship strong;
- You are not afraid to take on challenges during transitions or changes within the organization;
- Knowledge of key players and donors involved in humanitarian aid is an asset.
Offer
- Monthly salary indication: € 3501 - € 5000
- A full-time contract (38 hours) for an indefinite period of time;
