Description
- You ensure the full identification and prompt execution of all regulatory obligations pertaining to insurance activities at the head office and branches, collaborating closely with the Legal & Regulatory Affairs team.
- You guarantee that all business units and personnel comprehensively understand regulatory requirements through regular training sessions, coordination, and effective dissemination of relevant notifications and circulars.
- You keep a vigilant eye on emerging local regulatory shifts, consultation documents, and policy statements released by relevant authorities and international organizations.
- You assist in crafting responses to regulators and other external inquiries, including Know Your Customer (KYC) questionnaires.
- You create, revise, and sustain internal compliance policies and procedures in accordance with industry benchmarks and regulations.
- You spearhead training programs focused on compliance policies, procedures, and legal duties.
- You actively foster a culture of compliance within the organization through continuous education and communication efforts.
- You conduct the annual Legal & Compliance risk assessment.
- You identify and evaluate potential compliance risks associated with the company's insurance products, operations, and marketing strategies.
- You devise action plans to mitigate compliance issues and enact corrective actions.
- You maintain precise records of compliance activities, including risk assessments, audits, employee training sessions, and regulatory communications.
- You take the lead in coordinating and preparing compliance reports for senior management and regulatory agencies, which includes presentations to the Board of Directors and similar requests at the parent company level.
- You propose improvements to Compliance Management Information (MI) and metrics, aiming to enhance communication effectiveness.
- You collaborate effectively with various functions and teams—including Claims, Underwriting, HR, third-party management, Procurement, and Company Secretary—to address compliance concerns and enhance awareness.
Your profile
- Must be fluent in both English and French; proficiency in Dutch is an added advantage.
- Should have over 8 years of experience in compliance or risk management, specifically within the European insurance sector, ideally in general insurance.
- Requires a comprehensive understanding of European insurance legislation and compliance structures, with the capability to implement regulatory requirements effectively.
- Needs to have demonstrated experience in the Luxembourg insurance market along with a solid grasp of relevant regulations.
- Must possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling them to convey compliance policies and procedures clearly to a diverse range of stakeholders, whether in person or online.
- Should illustrate a high degree of problem-solving abilities and robust analytical skills to evaluate risks and changes in regulations.
- Must be adept at prioritizing tasks efficiently to ensure deadlines are met as agreed.
- Should have a history of proactive teamwork, actively collaborating with colleagues, following up on tasks appropriately, and keeping the team informed about activities and progress.
- Familiarity with regulatory bodies in Belgium or the Netherlands is advantageous.
