Description

  • You provide assistance in the creation, execution, and upkeep of thorough policies, procedures, and controls related to financial crime compliance, ensuring alignment with both local and international regulatory standards as well as industry best practices.
  • You support the ongoing evaluation and revision of the risk assessment framework and conduct annual assessments to identify, analyze, and reduce financial crime risks within the organization’s activities.
  • You play a role in developing and delivering comprehensive training programs on financial crime compliance for staff at every level, making certain that there is a robust understanding of compliance responsibilities and organizational policies.
  • You ensure that all training modules related to financial crime remain relevant and effective.
  • You draft and distribute compliance newsletters and updates on financial crime topics as required.
  • You foster a culture of compliance by enhancing awareness of compliance and regulatory issues and ensuring that all activities adhere to relevant laws and regulations.
  • You contribute insights to compliance reports tailored for senior management's review.
  • You keep abreast of changes in regulatory requirements, assisting with impact assessments when necessary to maintain the organization's compliance framework for financial crime.
  • You identify avenues for improving both the effectiveness and efficiency of the financial crime compliance program.
  • You provide support to the Head of Legal & Compliance in implementing the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Framework and its components, which include collaborating with both internal and external audits on AML matters, providing advisory support (such as approvals for high-risk customers and managing AML tools), and handling disclosures to the Financial Intelligence Unit or Ministry of Finance.
  • You offer assistance to the Financial Crime Compliance Teams on additional matters whenever time permits, such as regulatory submissions, managing regulatory relationships, addressing business inquiries, initiating compliance projects, and other responsibilities as outlined in the Compliance Plan.

Your profile

  • Holds a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Financial Crime Compliance Officer within the non-life or non-retail insurance sectors.
  • Possesses a comprehensive understanding of financial crime compliance standards and related risk management strategies, particularly as they pertain to the insurance landscape in Europe. This includes familiarity with the EU’s financial crime compliance frameworks, as well as the anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism laws and regulations in Luxembourg and France, such as CAA/ACPR escalation and reporting protocols, along with European Directives regarding anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism efforts.
  • Demonstrates a proven track record in achieving favorable results through financial crime compliance initiatives, performing risk evaluations, and providing effective training sessions.
  • Shows capability in working collaboratively across various reporting structures to effectively support both European and non-European markets.
  • Is proficient in Excel, Word, and SharePoint applications.
  • Exhibits strong interpersonal abilities, enabling positive interaction with stakeholders across all organizational levels.
  • Is highly organized, adept at meeting deadlines, and able to juggle multiple tasks and projects efficiently.
  • Is fluent in both English and French, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
