Head of Accounting

The Head of Accounting will oversee all accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards. This role includes managing the accounting team, implementing financial controls, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the company's objectives.

Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cash Management: Supervise accounts payable and receivables; manage cash flow forecasts and communicate funding needs with the US parent company.
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate financial statements in compliance with GAAP; manage month-end close processes; coordinate regulatory reporting and tax filings; develop internal controls to protect company assets and support audit processes with external auditors.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Prepare annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with departments; monitor and analyze operating results against budgets to ensure alignment with corporate goals.
  • Accounting Operations: Oversee all accounting activities, including cost accounting and inventory management; ensure documentation and compliance with company policies.
  • Systems and Process Improvements: Evaluate and enhance accounting systems and processes for better efficiency; implement new financial software or upgrades when necessary.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor the accounting team; align with the US parent company's finance team on reporting and strategic initiatives; conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to encourage continuous improvement.
  • Business Unit Financial Management: Oversee financial planning and reporting for global business units; provide financial insights to support decision-making and business performance.

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, ideally in an industrial environment.
  • Expertise in GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Experience managing audits and collaborating with external auditors.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Fluent in English; other languages (French, German, Spanish) are a plus.
  • Proficient in accounting software (BOB50) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with financial regulations in Luxembourg.

Offer

  • Monthly salary indication: € 6501 - € 7500
