Description
- You will actively participate in the preparation of periodic reports in accordance with BGAAP and IFRS, as well as in the analysis of the key factors contributing to profit by source and accounting reconciliation.
- You monitor the development of results in relation to the organization’s established KPIs.
- You provide input for the validation and interpretation of BGAAP and IFRS 17 results, identifying the causes of specific findings.
- You collaborate with other departments on the IFRS 17 calculation methodology and the associated projection models that underpin the calculations.
- You assist in identifying necessary changes to the calculation methodology and in testing requested adjustments.
- In a dynamic environment, you will share responsibility for integrating product and process changes, taking into account evolving legislation, to ensure continued compliance with risk management reporting requirements. This includes, among other things: defining requirements, testing, and setting up or maintaining supporting tools.
- You contribute to a continuous improvement process for reporting procedures to increase efficiency. In doing so, you challenge existing processes and explore opportunities for automation. This also includes documenting these processes, identifying risks, and developing controls.
- You develop and maintain databases for structural reporting and actuarial analyses. You are also responsible for monitoring and reporting on the data quality of these files.
Your profile
The ideal candidate:- Holds a master’s degree in a field with a strong mathematical foundation.
- Has several years of experience in the life insurance or reinsurance sector, including an understanding of accounting aspects, actuarial calculations, and models. Knowledge of IFRS 17 is considered a major plus.
- Possesses programming skills, preferably with experience in SAS.
- Possesses sharp analytical skills and can reason and make decisions independently.
- Works accurately and proactively, with an eye for detail.
- Can communicate effectively and is able to articulate ideas clearly and document them in writing.
- Is willing to delve into the technical systems, their operational functioning, and the accounting relationships.
- Has a strong team spirit and is willing to collaborate across team boundaries, at multiple locations such as Brussels and Antwerp.
- Demonstrates flexibility, especially during busy periods, and can multitask by working on multiple objectives simultaneously.
- Possesses excellent communication skills in Dutch, as well as in French
