We are looking for a dynamic and experienced professional to join our client as Fund Manager Operations. As a key member of the Fund Management Operations team, you will be responsible for comprehensive project management, optimizing internal processes and assisting the Head of Operations.

To succeed in this role, you will need a degree in business administration, economics, finance or a related field. Previous experience in securities services or asset management would be a considerable advantage.

Fluency in French and English is essential; any other language would be an added advantage. You should also have a solid understanding of the fund industry and a thorough knowledge of operations related to custody or fund administration.

As a team leader, you will need to demonstrate excellent people management skills as well as analytical, organizational and project management skills. Experience in creating new functions or processes would also be appreciated.

Description

  • Take charge of all relevant projects in which the department is involved, ensuring complete management of the process (requirements, validations, acceptances, etc.).
  • Initiate and monitor internal departmental projects to improve operational efficiency.
  • Assist the Head of Fund Manager Operations as deputy/backup/assistance.
  • Supervise and organize the team's workload, assigning tasks to direct reports to meet deadlines, requirements and other set objectives.
  • Manage the goal-setting process, annual performance appraisals, individual development plans, absences and vacation planning for the team.
  • Participate in the interview and selection process for employment candidates, including helping inexperienced staff learn job-specific tasks.
  • Ensure the management and execution of effective reporting and control processes.
  • Review, manage and report escalations to customers.
  • Represent the department internally and externally.

Your profile

  • Degree in business administration, economics, finance or related field required.
  • Previous experience in securities services or asset management is strongly preferred.
  • Fluency in French and English is required. Any other language is considered an asset.
  • The candidate must have a comprehensive understanding of the fund business as a whole, and in-depth knowledge of the operational aspects of custodian, safekeeping or fund administration activities.
  • Previous experience in personnel supervision and people management is required.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and project management skills.
  • Experience in establishing or participating in the establishment of a new function or new processes and procedures is considered an asset.
