Description

  • Review actuarial assumptions and models, including loss developments and future premiums, and make change proposals
  • Document methodology and assumption changes and log reserving committee decisions
  • Regularly review key S II and IFRS 17 assumptions
  • Assist in defining, structuring, and sourcing actuarial data for Solvency II and IFRS 17 processes
  • Monitor portfolio performance, including ultimate loss ratios per account and by underwriting years
  • Assess volatility of underwritten business and suggest risk mitigations if necessary
  • Ensure comprehensive implementation of (re)insurance arrangements in internal accounting systems
  • Provide support to the underwriting team in product development and pricing reviews
  • Assist in the Solvency II and ORSA calculation processes
  • Recommend reinsurance arrangements or other risk mitigation techniques to optimize retained insurance risks, required capital, and IFRS 17 results

Your profile

• Master’s degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, or a related field
• Proven experience: minimum 5 years
• Solvency II literate
• Data structure and quality focused
• Proficiency in written and verbal English
• A Team player who is also capable of working independently and thinking ahead
• The ability to multi-task and prioritize with great initiative and "can-do" attitude
• Analytical skills, fast learner, problem-solver
• Ability to communicate clearly with external service providers and colleagues
• Excel proficiency required
• One or more high-level programming language(s) (e.g. VBA, Python) appreciated
• Power Query (M), DAX, R, Pandas, SQL, and/or other languages are strong assets
• Experience in a non-life (re)insurance company
• Good knowledge in German and/or French
