Claims Handler

We are actively seeking a motivated and competent Claims Manager for our client, a private company with public interest missions. As Claims Manager, you will be responsible for the complete management of claims files. You will receive new files, update data, assess damages and allocate technical reserves. In addition, you will follow up incoming correspondence and make decisions regarding claimant compensation.

To be successful in this role, you must have a legally-focused degree and excellent knowledge of French or Dutch, with a working knowledge of the other language. Previous experience in insurance case management is also an asset.

Description

  • You receive new files, update the data in the file and take the necessary steps to make informed decisions.
  • You value damages and allocate a technical provision to files.
  • You handle incoming correspondence and follow up on diaries, and take all actions required for proper management.
  • You take decisions on whether or not to compensate claimants and obtain any reimbursements.
  • You monitor litigation procedures in which our client is involved, and correspond with the appointed lawyers to defend their interests as effectively as possible.
  • You acquire and update your theoretical knowledge.

Your profile

  • You have a degree in law.
  • You have an excellent knowledge of French or Dutch and a working knowledge of the other language.
  • You are organized and rigorous.
  • You have good writing skills.
  • Experience in handling motor claims, particularly bodily injury claims, is an asset.
