Relationship Manager Corporate Banking
Our client, active in Corporate Banking, is looking for a Relationship Manager to join its international team. Your responsability will be the coverage of corporate clients of the bank, including therein the origination of new customers and the cross-selling of ancillary products to new and existing accounts. Also, you will be complementing the primary marketing function, this role requires a strong credit focus; a thorough understanding of client business risks and key sector trends is critical to fulfil the role as “first line of defence”. Our client is looking for someone who has communication/analytical skills and a working level knowledge of key corporate finance concepts.
Description
- Coverage of corporate clients of the bank, including therein the origination of new customers and the cross-selling of ancillary products to new and existing accounts;
- Complementing the primary marketing function, this role requires a strong credit focus; a thorough understanding of client business risks and key sector trends is critical to fulfil the role as “first line of defence”;
- Pitching and originating new corporate clients and transactions, including therein oversight of the production of marketing materials and management of the associated compliance review process;
- Coordination of the preparation/timely submission of credit applications to meet (often tight) client deadlines, being specifically responsible for presentation of the transaction including key terms and conditions, together with the related business case and client exposure strategy;
- Lead the delivery and execution of ancillary strategies with product partners on a client-by-client basis under the guidance of the Head of BeLux Corporates which shall be key to achieve agreed relationship returns and inter-alia the allocated individual budget; ancillary cross-sell initiative contributes approximatively 50% of the gross revenues;
- Supervision of the documentation process, guiding allocated AVPs through the loan closing in collaboration with Loan Capital Markets’ Execution Team/Legal Department and actively managing any documentation negotiation with the client (and ensuring any deviation from bank-wide policies and procedures are appropriately risk-accepted by the General Manager of this role);
- You have a strong conduct and culture statement. As “first line of defence” this role shall be shall have direct responsibility for management of client PSI data, being also responsible for the recording and dissemination of all meaningful client conversations which shall be increasingly critical in order to mitigate potential conduct risks associated with the IBOR Discontinuation Project;
- Provide information to clients on SMFG products and services, including investment products;
- Other ad hoc tasks, in requested by Head of BeLux Corporates which contribute to the operation of CBDE2.
Your profile
- Degree level education and/or working toward relevant professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, CFA, MCT);
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Sound credit/analytical skills, including formal bank credit training or equivalent;
- Working level knowledge of key corporate finance concepts;
- Good technical knowledge of principal products of the bank, including a thorough understanding of standard credit documentation, including LMA, ISDA etc.;
- Self-motivated and flexible approach is essential, including an ability to work on multiple tasks in parallel under pressure and time constraints;
- The role is based in Brussels but shall require regular business travel;
- IT literate, including fluency with key Microsoft Office packages.
