Operational Risk Manager

Description

The Risk Manager will primarily focus on risk-related tasks concerning our UCITS and AIFMD fund business, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal guidelines. The main objective is to identify, monitor, and report on all risks associated with our funds continuously. The Risk Manager will execute daily business tasks following current practices, contribute to project-related tasks, and handle special requests.

The key area of expertise required for this role is operational risk. The successful candidate will closely collaborate with various business units to:
  • Identify, monitor, and mitigate the company's operational risk.
  • Coordinate and oversee outsourced essential services effectively.
  • Participate in resolving and conducting root-cause analysis of operational incidents.
Furthermore, the role involves providing support in daily monitoring of investment compliance guidelines and coordinating audit-related matters, including the fund's external audit process and responding to due diligence requests from clients or custodians. The aim is to ensure a high-quality risk measurement process and identify opportunities for improvement.

Your tasks will be:
  • Provide support to the Head of Risk Management and other team members as needed.
  • Ensure the accurate execution of daily business operations and risk reporting.
  • Monitor fund risks in accordance with regulatory and Group internal requirements (UCITS, AIFMD).
  • Maintain accurate documentation of processes and report to Senior Management, Board of Directors, and Regulator.
  • Ensure comprehensive reporting of all Risk Management-related matters to the Board of Directors, relevant Committees, Senior Management, and local Regulator.
  • Conduct risk analyses across all areas covered by the Risk department.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining efficient controls within the Risk Management department.
  • Support projects and handle ad-hoc requests/tasks in the field of Risk Management.
  • Assist with due diligence activities related to delegated risk management.
  • Coordinate with internal and external Auditors.

Your profile

  • Hold a University Degree in finance, mathematics, or a related field, and possess relevant professional experience.
  • Must have a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the banking/financial sector.
  • Possess a good understanding of the Luxembourg fund industry, as well as the local UCITS & AIFMD regulation.
  • Familiarity with professional risk management systems and best market practices concerning standard risk measures & models.
  • Fluent in English, with proficiency in any other major European language considered a plus.
  • Excellent practical knowledge of the MS Office suite, including Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong comprehension of various operations and interactions between business units within a Management Company.
  • Effective communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Capable of supporting the implementation and successful execution of short- and medium-term plans.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines efficiently and systematically.
  • Practical problem-solving approach.
  • Highly motivated and intellectually curious.
  • Good business acumen.
