Legal Counsel
Our client, a trusted leader in wealth management, is seeking a mid to senior level banking and financial services lawyer with expertise in private banking products and services. As a member of our dedicated legal team, you will play a crucial role in managing projects across all departments, particularly Investment & Client Solutions, FIM services, and Assets Servicing. Your focus will be on the broad range of wealth management products, including capital market and alternative investment products, as well as discretionary portfolio management and investment advisory. Based in Luxembourg, this is an exciting opportunity to enhance your professional experience within an international environment, collaborating closely with the Head of Legal GPS and local legal teams across Europe.
Description
- Manage the legal aspects of projects related to new or existing products and services throughout the group, working closely with the business units and the compliance department;
- Proactively engage with the business and stakeholders to highlight the value of involving a lawyer early on in key matters and projects concerning new or existing products and services;
- Provide high-quality legal advice on a wide range of topics within the products and services specialist team, enabling Quintet to identify, manage, and report legal risks effectively;
- Effectively manage personal workload in collaboration with the Head of Legal GPS;
- Collaborate with local legal teams in Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK.
Your profile
- Qualified mid to senior level lawyer with in-house experience in financial services, specifically in private banking products and services;
- Proficient in managing multi-entity projects;
- Discretionary portfolio management and investment advisory agreements;
- Capital markets products, including derivatives, financing instruments, and structured products;
- Private equity funds and alternative products;
- Life insurance;
- In-depth knowledge of MiFID and PRIIPS regulations.
- Positive, proactive, and growth-minded;
- Ability to work in a matrix environment with a commercial approach to the legal function;
- Capable of working independently, transparently, and proactively with stakeholders and line managers;
- Adaptable to handle a wide range of responsibilities, multiple cases simultaneously, and conflicting deadlines and priorities;
- Experienced in working independently and managing workload within a small specialist legal team based in Europe, collaborating with colleagues in Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, and the UK;
- Ability to provide business advice from a group perspective, working with local legal colleagues to obtain their validation;
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present easily understandable solutions to stakeholders.
