Financial Investment Analyst

Our client, a major international player in the banking and insurance sector, is looking for a Financial Investment Analyst to join its Investment Accounting & Reporting team in Brussels. This team plays a key role in the production of financial statements. The profile sought should have experience in investment accounting, and knowledge of IFRS and BEGAAP.

Description

Within the Group Finance department, the Investment Accounting & Reporting team plays a key role in the production of financial statements. The team plays an essential role in interaction between the Group's central teams, international teams and teams within the Group's Finance Department.
  • You will monitor the production of financial reports: inventory and results of investment assets under local, IFRS and Solvency II standards, and participate in the monitoring of internal controls as well as relations with auditors on subjects related to financial assets.
  • In collaboration with the various departments, you will take part in the various reconciliation processes, as well as in review and analysis work on financial transactions carried out during the period.
  • You will contribute to the preparation of group reports and to the implementation of controls and process optimization.
  • You will work in an international context, interacting with the Group's central teams, offshore teams in India, the various departments of the Finance Division, Risk Management and Business Units.
  • You will participate in cross-functional projects involving the investment team.
  • You must also be able to suggest ways of improving tools and processes, and be able to work with a high degree of autonomy. Critical thinking and analytical skills are very important.

Your profile

  • You have a Master's degree with a major in finance or auditing, and 5 to 10 years' experience in an investment accounting, financial assets or auditing function in a financial institution (bank, insurance company, investment fund).
  • You have a good command of French and/or Dutch, with a good understanding of the second language and an essential knowledge of English.
  • Knowledge of the operation of all types of financial products (securities and derivatives), and of asset accounting under Belgian standards, IAS39 and Solvency II. Knowledge of IFRS 9 is an asset.
  • Office tools (Excel, Access), knowledge of SAP, POWER BI, SAS reporting are assets.
  • Autonomy and ability to challenge and interact with multiple contacts.
  • Ability to analyze and summarize.
  • Rigor and a taste for figures in a dynamic technical environment.
