Payoll manager

Our client, one of the world's largest integrated manufacturers of building materials and solutions, is actively seeking a Payroll Manager.

As Payroll Manager, you are responsible for the payroll and HR administration of all employees in Belgium; three business lines, several joint committees and collective labour agreements.
You report to the Compensation & Benefit Manager.


  • As Payroll Manager, you will ensure the correct processing of payroll activities and the associated personnel administration.
  • In doing so, you ensure the correct application of the social legislation and the collective labour agreements negotiated at sector and company level.
  • Together with your team (2 people), you are responsible for the execution of a correct payroll and personnel administration for the Belgian entity.
  • You will support your team in their daily tasks and actively participate in certain files and/or specific tasks.
  • You will ensure that the salary policy is correctly applied in accordance with the respective collective labour agreements.
  • You are responsible for the accounting integration of the payroll data
  • You are the point of contact for the social secretariat and external payroll partners
  • You constantly update the process flow and optimize it if necessary.
  • You motivate your team members to work together in an efficient and pleasant way.

Your profile

  • You have a higher education (Bachelor's degree), preferably in an economic or human resources department, with an affinity for figures and knowledge of social legislation.
  • You have at least 10 years of relevant experience in the field of payroll, within large and complex structures.
  • You like working with numbers and you are good with Excel.
  • You get satisfaction from solving complex technical payroll issues.
  • You are a hands-on manager who employees can always turn to with questions.
  • You are organized, proactive and able to deal with difficult situations or issues.
  • You are comfortable communicating in Dutch, French and English.
  • You have experience with interface systems (Presta, Attentia, Yess) and possibly ERP systems for master data, etc.
  • Knowledge of several of the following joint committees is a plus: 102.03 - 102.04 - 102.06 - 102.07 - 102.09 - 106.01 - 124 - 200.
