Provide compliance advice and instructions to Front Office and Control & Support departments:
  • Control Room activities
  • To ensure that the existing Control Room activities are updated to reflect the policies and rules contained within the Compliance Manual and associated regulatory documentation.
  • To develop the Control Room systems and processes to facilitate the efficient and effective response to regulatory inquiries.
  • Give compliance advice/instruction on Control Room functions to all departments
  • Ensure that clerical accident and errors are reported to the Compliance management and record them in the internal register
  • To assist the Compliance management to investigate any identified potential or actual breach of the Financial Regulations
  • Act as subject matter expert and primary contact person for dedicated compliance matters, including managing stakeholder relations with designated departments, developing expertise for assigned product groups and be present in required meetings
  • Handle several ad hoc and structural projects related to compliance topics
  • Keep appraised of Compliance/Regulatory topics
  • Attend necessary seminars in order to be updated on legal and regulatory compliance developments
  • Conduct Compliance analysis and Monitoring & Testing on several topics where you have SME responsibilities
  • Assess the impact of new regulation on existing Compliance processes and provide subject matter expertise to regulatory change projects
  • Propose and implement control framework enhancements to address new regulations and/or perceived weaknesses in existing controls
  • Investigate potential or actual breaches of relevant laws, rules and regulations and assist in their remediation
  • Attend necessary seminars in order to be updated on legal and regulatory compliance developments
  • Undertake ad hoc activities as and when assigned within the Compliance team

Your profile

  • Strong knowledge of Belgian and European Financial laws and regulations
  • Strong knowledge of Financial markets and Banking activities
  • Good knowledge of prudential risks and financial conduct areas
  • Ability to work under pressure, ability to manage a number of issues, reviews and projects concurrently
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the confidence to approach people at all levels of seniority
  • Strong analytical and numeracy skills
  • Excellent report writing skills and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Able to work in team and independent
  • Methodical and systematic in work approach, Risk aware
  • IT literate
  • Fluent in Dutch and French
  • Good English communication skills
