Data Analyst

Our client is responsible for the process of managing and monitoring assets, on behalf of individual and corporate clients. He offers funds and mandates towards his clients. These funds & mandates are managed by Portfolio Managers, who are based in the different locations across the globe.

Global Operations Services (GOS) is responsible for handling and monitoring all services, in order that the Portfolio Managers are able to manage daily their portfolios.

The Mandate Accounting team & NAV Oversight team, as part of GOS, is responsible to ensure:
  • the day-to-day administration and management of the Mandate Accounting activities within GOS. The team is responsible for monitoring and validating the porfolio valuations and data quality of mandates (for institutional clients) within the portfolio management system and mandate accounting tool.
  • the NAV Calendar, Monitoring and NAV Correctness.
  • Monitor the DMC database to ensure data availability and correctness through coherency checks.
As a DMC Data Analyst, you perform coherency controls on DMC data, log issues and liase with BPSS / other providers in order to correct or explain the issues. You support DMC users by answering all their queries on DMC data.

Description

DMC :
  • Perform on a daily basis different coherency controls on DMC data in order to detect discrepancies or missing data. Contact the different data providers in order to fix the identified issues ;
  • Monitor the team’s common mailbox in order to log and answer any request from DMC users on data quality issues ;
  • Have regular contact with IT DMC and data providers (mainly BPSS) in order to fix recurrent issues and improve communication ;
  • Suggest improvement to the current process in order for the team to work in a more efficient way. Automate tasks as much as possible via VBA ;
  • Improve and develop new controls in order to improve data quality of the DMC database ;
  • Visit the clients on a regular basis and get their feedback ;
  • Make sure that all processes are properly documented in a standardized AM procedure.
OCR :
  • Quarterly control of fees (On-going charges) for French and Luxembourg funds for each share classes by comparing accountant’s calculated rate with our internal theorical rates ;
  • Develop the OCR control tool by proposing improvements to speed up the process.
Key Internal / External Relationships
  • DMC users (Reporting team, Portfolio Managers, Compliance, Client Service team etc); GOS colleagues.

Your profile

Essential qualifications & experience
  • Bachelor or master degree ;
  • Some affinity with the financial world, however a financial degree is not necessary. However the person needs to be eager to learn more of the financial world.
Essential skills/competencies (Technical / behavioural / leadership)

Technical competences:
  • Good knowledge of English and one or more other languages (ideally French; and the national language(s) of the country where the role is based) ;
  • Good with data and numbers ;
  • Good knowledge of basic IT tools (MS Office XL, MS Outlook).
